Addiction

My dependency on coffee is increasing as the school year progresses. I never thought it would come to this. Just like smoking, when you have a spare minute you are looking to fullfill the desire, and mine seems to be caffeine. The more I drink the more work I get done. The downside is when I go to class and have to talk to my classmates...it's a bit choppy and you can almost hear the shakes in my voice.
It reminds me of a song that we used to have to sing in music class, it goes a little something like this:
C-O-F-F-E-E
Coffee is not for me,
its a drink some people wake us with,
that is makes them nervous is no myth.
Slaves to a coffee cup,
they can't give coffee up

Prairie Weather Part 1

Contrary to some comments that Saskatoon will be easy to ride your bike in, I have just discovered it's not. My average 10 minute bike ride home took 20 today. Not that i mind the exercise but the intense rain and insane wind sure slow you down. To get to our house you have to pass these huge fields where there is nothing blocking the wind, i ended up on the easiest level of my bike and it was still hard. Also, the rain gear of Benj's should just be called gear because i came home completly soaked. With these passing events I am seriously considering purchasing a parking pass at the university. I still like playing in puddles though, i wish i brought my gum boots!

Please Shower...

Just a little side note about school. Your day can be going so well and you think this university thing isn't so bad, then it happens...someone walks by you who smells really bad. It's like the sweat is caught under their clothes and the movement of walking is letting it all out. The smell is caught in your tiny nose hairs and starts to give you a headache. Then you have to go read with this aroma lingering in your nose; just when you think the smell is gone you have to walk down the hallway and it all happens again...the neverending smell.

USASK

Started my new life today, sounds pretty exciting but it won't last. The life of a student...sitting on your butt for numerous hours then looking forward to going to the library, or home to continue reading and sitting on your butt, sweet!
It's weird that here in Saskatoon, basically everyone is a Husky fan (the school sports team). It sure isn't like that in BC or at least that i know of. Everyone here knows exactly how the football teams are doing and who they are playing next.
Another random fact for you folks: Saskatchewan has the highest bottle return rate in Northern America. Whenever you return bottles, you have to sign a waiver stating that the bottles you are returning were bought in Saskatoon, apparently it is a big problem. Halirous! Guess i better work on drinking more beer!

Thought most of you would enjoy this pic...its of one of the oldest buildings on campus. Just about 100 years old!
